Out with the OLD and in with the NEW

Today was the day -- quite a while ago, we had a babysitter rip off a piece of edging on my formica -- right on the edge when you walk in. . . so, I decided that it would be something I would need to replace before I could sale, so if that was the case let's fix it and enjoy it . . .we did and today was THE day -- here is the new granite we got -- I am really happy with it --

We also replaced our dishwasher yesterday, (Jake had tried to fix it several times and it was getting harder to fix. . .) so I can't wait to get my kitchen all put back together!

A CRAZY Week

Ryan has been riding the school bus all year HOME from school -- it is a full sized bus, not to be confused with a "short bus" -- and there are two, and sometimes THREE kids that ride home from school with him -- I think of it as a great LUXURY as he goes to school about five miles from here, and well, with gas prices, I am CHEAP. . . his bus driver is so good to our "little Kindergartner" and has been since the get go -- I just want to remember the greeting that I get every morning at 11:45 when I pick him up -- TOMORROW is the last day riding the bus with his bus driver -- sad to think he will be going to school ALL day when school resumes in August!

On Friday, Ryan had Neely's annual tradition of field day for the Kindergarten. . .When Jacob was in Kindergarten I made it to the field day, but this year, I elected to not -- Ryan and all of the kids in his class were so excited -- they receive the day before T-shirts -- this year they were Shrek shirts and they go and just have a blast all morning -- Ryan almost chickened out as his teacher said that if the kids were bad, they would have to stay in the Principal's office -- apparently he was concerned about self control. . . .He was very specific and excited as they were going to "eight centers!! Isn't that cool? We have not testss any more in kindergarten!"

This past week was Jacob's music program as well. We were told the kids needed to dress in international costumes or

"Nice American" clothes -- he heard adventurer clothes -- he wore a pirate costume from Halloween -- in discussion, he said a pirate is "an international person -- he is from every country" -- we got a new camcorder and if I ever figure out how to put video on my blog I will put a little blurb of it on. . .

Now, Jake isn't excited about our little covered wagon trip next week or anything is he? (He is packing as I am typing and it is only MONDAY) --I wish I could share a bit in his excitement -- not really but maybe just a little -- Jake sat down with the boys and made "plans" on what they need to do, and drew graphics on a poster of our trip for them yesterday -- since then, Spencer has been "packing" for it. The last packing incident was all of the things on my bathroom counter into a bag -- the time before was hot dogs into a bag Jake was putting away. ANYWAY -- the boys all got new boots for this trip -- Jacob hiking and Ryan and Spencer cowboy boots -- the boys are all in LOVE with the boots and try to wear them whenever and wherever they can -- can you say they tried wearing boots and shorts to school and to a birthday party -- mom put the brakes on both of those things -- but they did wear them on the father's and son's outing. . . I just wish I could share some of the enthusiasm for this ADVENTURE. Oh well, hopefully it will be better than I think. . . we shall see.

Mommy makeover Kindegarten Style!

On Tuesday, I got to go to Ryan's Kindegarten class for a "mommy makeover". They lotioned our hands, cleaned off our make up and made us up complete with doing our hair! Ryan wasn't as in to that part as he was the singing. They did three super cute songs, the last one being Skippy d rink a dink, I love you ! He was really into singing to me!

The mom's that have girls didn't get off quite as easy, but here we are at the end -- it was sure fun to be in Ryan's class and let him show me around his classroom in a less structured way and to have him singing was so fun. I feel so blessed to have Ryan, and Spence and Jacob as my children!
