24th of July Kanosh style

Jake's parents and some of his siblings live in a VERY small town. For the 24th of July they get "out of towners" that more than double their town and might even triple the size. . .this year our Family Reunion was the 24th. The boys loved it. . .

Jake's dad always is driving a wagon with his team of horses. . .

Apparently, Jacob wanted to be on a float. . .they let you ride a float, if you are so inclined, and if you get bored, just jump off.

The floats go up one side of the main street and then turn around and go down the other side. . .

You are sure to get all of the candy you want. . .

After the parade, Grandpa will take everyone who wants to go, on a horse wagon ride, you might have to wait in line, but you will get your chance. . .

After a delicious dutch oven dinner, that is paid for by donation, there are games and contests.

And plenty of time for visiting in the shade. . .

And a huge tug-of-war one side of town against the other. Too bad the kids didn't realize, they were on the wrong side of town and the "right" side of the tracks beat them soundly this year. They also had a chicken chase contest and a greased pig contest, fortunately we aren't big chicken or greased pig catchers. . .Fun times

Preston & Lucy

On Thursday, we went to Utah, Lucy was taking out her endowments. . .All of Jake's siblings and their spouses were going to be there. . .we were going to be tight on time. . .We made it to the temple a little bit later than the session, but did sealings in the same temple that we were sealed. Loved remembering back to the "good old days". After we finished we went and greeted all of Jake's siblings as they entered the Celestial room. What a grand reunion.

The next day was wedding day! Lucy and Preston got married! I didn't bring Spence and I was too busy talking and enjoying the day to take pictures. . .We did get pictures of all of Jake's siblings and thier spouses with his parents. . .Can you guess who is related (the genes are strong)

The order is b, b, g, b, b, g, g, b, g

Here is the newly wedded cople. . . Fun times! Good luck Preston and Lucy and congratulations!

Fun times this summer!

We are crazy busy. . .I am hoping I will have some fun things to share in the next couple of weeks. . .but for now. We have been trying to stay cool!
A couple of weeks ago, we went to the circus. . .

It was amazing in lots of ways. Jacob came prepared, he was certainly afraid of being too bored. . .

The elephants were amazing! All of the animals were so well trained. . .

After the circus we went to the science of fear at the Science Center, we loved it! The things that they monitored was so cool. The kids got belted onto a board and they video taped your reaction. Spencer had NO fear of falling!

Redneck Swimming

We don't have a swimming pool. I am working on changing that. But we don't have a pool. It gets hot in Arizona. Really hot. So, on Monday, my parents called and said that the kids could play in the irragation in their yard if they wanted to come over. . .

The boys were delighted to go to Grandma and Grandpa's to play in the water. They were thrilled to find quite a bit of water, and a empty plastic pool floating in the pool. Jacob decided this was his private domain, and used it as a boat.

He also used it to stash is load of old fruit to throw at his brothers. Even Ryan who was moping decided to have fun and play in the water. . .

After a good shower. . .they were as clean as they were to begin with. Thanks for the wet afternoon Grandma and Grandpa!
