First Day of School

Today is the first day of school for Jacob and Ryan. I just dropped them off at the bus, yes, dropped them off to the bus. I know, what kind of mom drops her kids off the first day of school? That is what I am wondering -- I planned to drive them, planned to do lot's of things, but THEY insisted that they would ride the BUS -- so they are iff fir their great adventures and won't get the big hug from mom, or the reassuring push to go off. I guess it is ok, my mom just drove me the first day. I called Jake when I got home, wondering if I should follow them i the car and he was like I am glad that you didn't drive them! My mom NEVER drove me the first day, so if you are a DeGraffenried, and you remember your mom driving you -- post a reply, because he needs to be reminded. My boys will be fine, and they will be home with many exciting tales, but until then, well, Spencer and I will find some fun things to keep us busy!

Ryan was excited to go off to first grade. Ms Schmidt will be his teacher this year, and she seems like a really nice lady.

Jacob will be in fourth grade this year, and his teacher is Mrs. Washburn. She seems like she will be able to appreciate Jacob for his quirkiness, she had SIX boys and TWO girls, and told me that she had all kinds of challenges with her kids. Last year, Jacob's teacher had never had kids, and it was a tough year. I am crossing my fingers!

That's nice they get to take the bus. Is the bus stop near? Now you just need to get Spencer in something and you will have a much needed break!

I can't believe they are already in school. Torrey starts preschool in two weeks. Hope you are doing well. Take care.

Jake was right, I never remember being dropped off at school for the first day. The only times I remember being dropped off at all was when I missed the bus and mom wouldn't let me stay home.
